The Henrik Lundqvist Foundation, through its fundraising efforts and community outreach, strives to create positive change in the lives of children and adults throughout the world through education and health services.

About Us

The Henrik Lundqvist Foundation was founded in 2014 by NY Rangers’ goaltender Henrik Lundqvist and his wife Therese. After years of service through Madison Square Garden’s Garden of Dreams Foundation, including serving as a spokesperson since 2009, Henrik decided to create his own Foundation which runs its own HLF Young Ambassador Program but also partners with a few carefully selected community partners in New York City, Sweden and the Dominican Republic.

HLFYA Program

In 2015, HLF launched its first Foundation-run program, the Henrik Lundqvist Foundation Young Ambassador Program. The program was started because of Henrik & Therese’s belief in the incredible power of young people to make a difference in the world.

Community Partners

The Henrik Lundqvist Foundation is proud to support the following local and international organizations:

  • New York Presbyterian Children’s Hospitals
New York Presbyterian’s two children’s hospitals, Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital and the Komansky Center for Children’s Health, provide outstanding care and specialized treatment, unique to kids with major illnesses. New York Presbyterian’s children’s hospitals are nationally recognized centers for top tier pediatric care.
  • Ronald McDonald Barnfond (“Children’s Fund”)
Ronald McDonald House Charities’ network of local chapters make children facing illnesses happier and healthier by keeping families together, giving them a place to rest and refresh that feels like home. Ronald McDonald Houses provide a place to stay, including home-cooked meals, bedrooms and playrooms, near hospitals, at little or sometimes no cost. Today Ronald McDonald Barnfond includes 5 houses near university hospitals in Sweden.
  • Together for Better
Together for Better, founded by Swedish journalist Ebba Lövenskiold, supports schools for children living in poverty in the Dominican Republic. TFB builds schools, classrooms, bathrooms and playgrounds and supplies books, educational materials, and school uniforms for preschool and public school aged children in the Dominican Republic.
  • Garden of Dreams Foundation
Garden of Dreams Foundation is a non-profit organization that works with all areas of The Madison Square Garden Company including the New York Rangers, Knicks, Liberty, MSG Entertainment, MSG Networks and Fuse to make dreams come true for kids facing obstacles. Henrik Lundqvist has served as a spokesperson for the GODF since 2009.
