Garden of Dreams Foundation & New York Rangers

Over the 2016/17 season HLF hosted over 250 children and their families in Henrik’s Crease at MSG through our work with the Garden of Dreams Foundation. We are proud to continue the partnership in the 2017/18 season and we hope you enjoy seeing all the updates from Henrik’s Crease on our social media and website.

The Foundation receives many requests from children facing various challenges. Sometimes we can create a ‘dream-come-true’ experience together with New York Rangers and the Garden of Dreams Foundation. Below are a couple of highlights from 2017:

Ronald McDonald Barnfond (Children’s Fund)

In August Henrik & Therese attended the opening ceremony of the new Ronald McDonald House in Gothenburg where the Foundation’s support of $80,000 financed a family and living room. The new house will help an additional 250 families annually. Our co-founders were also proud to announce a new grant promise for additional $240,000 to be paid over 3 years to a new project that is yet to be determined.

NewYork-Presbyterian Children’s Hospitals

The 2016 grant of $50,000 from HLF was used in 2017 to upgrade Child Life playroom furnishings, a new air-hockey table and salary support to the ‘Henrik Lundqvist Foundation Art Therapist’. smarturl.it/HLFNYPHospital In the beginning of December, the HLFYA and their mentors delivered holiday cheer. The drive was organized by one of the HLF mentors and each participating ambassador held their own toy drive. The number of toys collected was beyond impressive. Henrik & Therese personally delivered the toys on December 25th.

Together For Better

HLF’s financial support to community partner Together For Better was able to help 4 different schools and around 300 children in the Dominican Republic with school material for the 2017/18 school year.

HLF Young Ambassador Program

We are currently on our 3rd year of running the HLF Young Ambassador Program. So far the 35 ambassadors have together completed over 800 hours of community service, around 30 independent service projects that have raised over $20,000 for our community partners and other organizations that share our mission. The feedback and ripple effect continues to be amazing and we are looking to develop and grow this program. We believe and have seen when young ambassadors come together, remarkable things happen!
