The Henrik Lundqvist Foundation, recently co-founded by New York Rangers’ Henrik Lundqvist and Therese Lundqvist, is teaming up with Food Bank to help fight hunger in New York City. As part of their first ever grant cycle, the Foundation is funding Food Bank’s CookShop for Families program, helping support 17 elementary schools in the South Bronx, where the need is greatest. As a result, more than 250 families will be supplied with ingredients to prepare low-cost, nutritious recipes to at home. In light of National Nutrition Month, we couldn’t be more grateful for the support at this time.
In addition, Henrik and Therese have generously lent their time to Food Bank, with Therese volunteering for dinner service at our Community Kitchen in Harlem with the New York Rangers’ wives and Henrik touring our South Bronx Warehouse to learn more about our food distribution operation. Henrik has also officially signed on as a Food Bank Celebrity Ambassador, even further amplifying the impact he and the Foundation will have on our efforts. We are thrilled to welcome them to the Food Bank family!
